15-September 2010 – Pharmaceutical
standards + expert advice = the booth to visit at
CPhI
LGC Standards showcases its range of products to support
the pharmaceutical sector at CPhI, Paris on 5-7 October
2010
LGC
Standards, Europe’s leading supplier of reference materials and
products and services to support laboratory quality, is exhibiting
at CPhI, Hall 6, Booth 6M78. This year, the booth will feature our
broadest range of products to date.
A fully updated catalogue will be available, which includes the
LGC Standards range of over 2,600 impurities for active
pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and listings from all the major
pharmacopoeias worldwide. All LGC Standards impurities are
synthesised and characterised in state-of-the-art laboratories
accredited to ISO guide 34 near Berlin, Germany. The constantly
expanding range is published monthly at www.lgcstandards.com/newimpurities.
A brand new range of primary standards for quantitative analysis
will be launched in response to requests from customers. The
primary standards are accompanied by a certificate containing
detailed identity information and purity/assay data.
In addition, a range of secondary standards traceable to USP, EP
and BP reference standards will be introduced. Secondary standards
present an inexpensive alternative to the original pharmacopeial
materials.
For drug development purposes (e.g. ADME/Tox, drug-drug
interaction), the catalogue 'Tools for
ADME/Tox – reagents, standards and model systems' is a
comprehensive and easy to use reference. It includes references to
the FDA Drug Development and Drug Interactions guidance for
substrates, inhibitors and inducers listing relevant compounds as
either preferred or acceptable. A significant number of metabolite
standards are also available either labelled or unlabelled. Tools
for ADME/Tox includes a collection of important model systems used
in preclinical drug discovery research. These include fresh
hepatocytes from a range of species, available the day after
isolation and key immortalised cell lines such as Caco-2 (HTB-37™)
and normal human primary cells from ATCC®.
LGC Standards has experts on hand to offer advice on choosing
the most appropriate material for your needs, and the correct usage
of materials. On 7 October at 11.30am, Dr Christian Zeine, Global
Product Manager for the pharmaceutical sector, will deliver a
lecture at Speakers’ Corner, entitled ‘FDA and EMA demands on
reference standards, and how to meet them!’
