tender
LGC Forensics awarded forensic analysis tender
for East Midland police forces
LGC
Forensics, the UK’s largest independent provider of forensic
services, will soon commence work under the recently awarded East
Midlands Region police forensic tender.
Under the three-year contract, LGC will perform all required
questioned document analysis, road traffic toxicology and PACE
(Police and Criminal Evidence Act) DNA sample analysis for the
Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and
Northamptonshire police forces. The award of this tender reinforces
LGC Forensics as a leading forensic service provider to police
forces of England and Wales and represents a growth in the number
of UK forces now under contract to LGC Forensics.
LGC Forensics has now won contracts for each of the four tenders
awarded under the National Forensic Framework
Agreement and is the only company to have won new work in every
tender.
Work for the tender will be undertaken within LGC’s group
headquarters in Teddington, as well as in its laboratories located
in Culham and Runcorn. This work will also represent opportunities
for LGC Forensics to collaborate with other LGC divisions, for
example with LGC Standards in the continued development of drug
detection methods for new and emerging ‘legal high’ drugs.
Steve Allen, Managing Director of LGC
Forensics commented, “The award of this tender is a significant
achievement by the staff and management of LGC Forensics who have
worked extremely hard, showing their commitment to maintaining our
excellent customer service record and remain the UK’s leading
independent forensic service provider to UK police forces.“
