Biological Metrology website
Visit the new chemical and biological measurement website -
www.nmschembio.org.uk - your gateway to reliable results
LGC, in its capacity as the UK’s National Measurement Institute
for Chemical and Biochemical Measurements, has launched a new
website - http://www.nmschembio.org.uk/.
This provides public access to the outputs of the UK National
Measurement System (NMS) Chemical and Biological Metrology
programme. The website also contains the outputs from the previous
VAM (Valid Analytical Measurement) and MfB (Measurements for
Biotechnology) programmes.
The NMS Chemical and Biological Metrology programme aims to develop
new approaches to measurement which will lead to standardisation
and thus improved comparability of measurement results.
The NMS Chemical and Biological Metrology website enables UK
businesses to access expert advice and information to help diagnose
and solve measurement-related problems and allows those involved
with chemical and biochemical measurements to improve the quality,
reliability and comparability of measurements.
Highlights of the website include:
- A comprehensive publications section with many new
peer-reviewed papers, books and guides
- A Key Topics section covering mass spectrometry and quality
assurance issues such as method validation and measurement
uncertainty
- An advanced search facility
- Training and education resources for schools, universities and
laboratories
- A list of relevant upcoming training courses and conferences
worldwide
- Over 150 reports, posters and best practice guides available
for download
- A helpdesk service that provides expert advice on measurement
topics
- A Projects section detailing work being carried out under the
NMS Chemical and Biological programme.
This website is managed by LGC under contract with the Department
for Innovation, Universities & Skills (DIUS).
