As part of Chemistry Week 2007 organised by the Royal Society of
Chemistry, LGC welcomed 200 visitors to its Runcorn site for an
evening of tours, talks and exhibits on Wednesday 7 November
2007.
What was on show? Front line forensic science, crime scene
analysis, forensic examination of DNA, drugs and documents. How we
safeguard the quality of the human food chain - from BSE in beef to
pesticides in fruit. Why food allergies are on the increase and why
medicines work on some of us but not all of us.
