03-Dec-2008 - LGC's REACH specialist, Bob Scott, speaks at REACH post pre-registration conference in Hull

With the REACH process now in full swing, what comes next? Find out at Hull University on 13 January 2009

With pre-registration now complete - 2.25 million substance pre-registrations have been made to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) - the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) process is under way. To review the pre-registration process and discuss what will happen once the pre-registration process is complete, Hull University has organised a one-day conference called ‘REACH – post pre-registration. What now?’

The event, which will be held on Tuesday 13 January 2009, will bring together experienced REACH practitioners. Dr Derek Knight, Senior Technical Adviser to ECHA, will be the keynote speaker and will address the delegates on ‘ECHA and the pre-registration process’.

The morning of the conference will consider some the practical experiences to date of the pre-registration process and will include a presentation from Bob Scott, LGC’s Chemical Safety Consultant and REACH  advisor, on ‘REACH and consumer articles’, and there will be a perspective from the Health & Safety Executive.

Among the afternoon’s presentations, there will be two presentations on the mandatory substance information exchange forum (SIEF).

The one-day event, which will be held on Tuesday 13 January at the University of Hull, will run from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and will include lunch.

To reserve a place at this event, please email: reach@hull.ac.uk; tel: +44 (0)1482 466 940 or fax: +44 (0)1482 466 884.
