Trace level DNA analysis
LGC is currently developing whole genome
amplification and digital
PCR
techniques to enable more
sensitive detection of minority DNA species. This is vital for
early diagnosis of diseases such as cancer and non-invasive
prenatal testing
LGC also evaluates such techniques with
respect to bias and achievable sensitivity, and development of
appropriate control materials for trace analysis.
