Innovation R&D
LGC is one of the UK’s four designated National Measurement
Institutes (NMIs) that constitute the
BIS
-funded
National Measurement System (NMS). A new exciting programme within
the NMS is called Innovation R&D.
The Innovation R&D programme seeks to
support cutting-edge proposals from the NMIs to enhance the
application of measurement to new fields of endeavour.
For example, LGC is assessing analytical
technologies that can inform the understanding of an individual’s
geographical origin.
