Food contaminants & residues
LGC offers analysis and consultancy on
veterinary medicines. Analysis includes: antibacterials, steroids,
sulphonamides, NSAIDs, anthelmintics, coccidiostats, beta agonists,
stilbenes, hormones, thyrostats and zeranol.
We provide analysis and consultancy in support of new veterinary
drug development, method validation and provision of data for
dossier submission.
Pesticides determination includes: organochlorines,
organophosphates, pyrethroids, carbamates and PCBs .
Contaminants include: organic and inorganic contaminants, heavy
metals, mycotoxins and biotoxins.

Examples of our work
LGC has developed a sensitive LC-MSMS method for
beta-agonist residues which has since been expanded to cover 14
drugs in meat, offal and urine. It includes clenbuterol, of
particular concern in the beef industry, and drugs such as
ractopamine and zilpaterol that are used in pig production in some
geographic regions.
