Useful literature

LGC: The making of a company is an account of the final years of the Laboratory of the Government Chemist Next Steps Agency, the complex process of privatisation in 1996, and LGC's remarkable growth as a private company over the ensuing decade. It is a fascinating narrative by the founder, Richard Worswick, who led the transformation of LGC into an international company which now has laboratories and offices in more than 20 countries.

The book will be of interest primarily to those who were involved in the transformation of the organisation, but will also appeal to a wider audience interested in privatisation, strategic planning, acquisitions, the management of change, employee share ownership and how a private organisation can successfully supply entrepreneurial science services to the public and private sectors.
